i think the scratches will still be there but maybe a little easier to buff out where the plastic finsh goes in deeper. it all depends on how bad they are. myself i didnt buy mine to be a spit polish rig so scratches wont bother me much. when comparing it to a 525, there not even in the same comparsion. sport vs utility. no way to compare them. if speed is a big factor then the 800 is at the bottom of the list in the big bores.

I rode mine for the 1st time tonight. I rode it alittle easier since it had 0 miles on it, but I did notice some rattles in the new heat shield. The ADC is a pretty cool feture it works really well on steep creek banks it doesn't lock up the wheels or slide. I'll post more & some pics when the new tires& wheels get here.

No rattling from mine, just the knocking as I mentioned in another thread. Stendori, I'd be interested to hear from you as to whether or not you have this knocking sound, like it's coming from the bottom right side of the crankcase. Only when fully warmed though and only under 2,000 RPM.

Some of the rattle I found was the battery hold down strap. It was rattling against the frame, I took it off a put a bend in it to take care of that one. I do still have some noise in the heat shield somewhere.

My 2007 sportsman 800 X2 DLX had a similar rattle. I figured out it was the heat shield and I just slightly bent it outward and that stopped it.
