well ramblnman and me put 72 miles on yesterday thru a combo of rough, smooth, rocky, steep hills and a little mud trails and this was from my house.(nice not to have to tralor them. anyways we both used the same amount of gas when we filled up to my suprise which was 4 gallons in 56 miles and i had .13 gal. left in the tank and the fuel gauge had been blinking for about 4 1/2 miles. now this being brand new (not broke in) i was amazed it actually avg. 14 mpg w/ the throttle being veried from idle to full throttle to 65mph a couple of times. so basicly 60 miles to a tank would be max in the right condtions. they still need a bigger tank.
The drive line slap(back lash) in louder and more noticable in the 08' vs the 06' there again i already know its a normal sound, just a little irratating. speed wise since i never drove it w/ the stock tires im not to sure top end and will never know most likey, however lining up w/ the brute force w/ his 26" tires(25" is stock) and me w/ 27" (26" stock) i was 1 mph slower when we were cruising at 40mph(he was @ 41) so there pretty close. i think the 08' has a little midrange when you get on it vs. the 06' it was bogging slighty out of the hole, there again its not broke in, but was getting better w/ a few miles on it. the shifting is 100% smoother then the 06' was maybe becasue its still tight and new. w/ the bigger tires on it and the fact they didnt check toe in it pulls to the left and really wonders @ high speeds unlike my 06'. ok now for the grand finally, the ADC controll. if i put it awd/adc and put it in low range on a rough steep grade it would pretty much come to a complete stop on a hill as long as the wheels were touching the ground. wow was all i could think of when i tried it. now if i leave it in high range locked in it would slow you down but still free wheel w/ the ebs/adc doing a good job of not locking the tires(like i said its a steep grade). however just like w/ the regular ebs brake if your wheel comes off the ground because of rough uneven trails it will tend to slide just like w/ the adc on. point is, if you have traction to all 4 tires you will not slide w/ it lockes in. if you are on loose slimey, sandy or what have you surface then it would be not much differnt then the ebs alone. oh and we didnt brake anything so it was a good ride.

Sounds likeyou had a good day. I wish I could have waited for an 08 but had to have a ride for the family vacation. The one thing you didn't comment on was the difference in torque and acceleration over the 06. I know it's not broken in yet but did you feel a noticeable difference? Graz on the new bike.
