Polaris 500 overheating.
#1
I took my 500 sportsman out yeaterday for a ride and it overheated on me. I never heard the fan kick on. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing the fan not to kick on. Any info. would be helpful thanks.

Try to give it a little spin......Some on here before said the sticks and mud can make the fan stick.......................So they gave it a little turn and away it started!!!...........But it may need to be replaced...........If it don't start on it's own...................
If that don't work.................Try given 12 volts directly to the fan and see if it comes on.............Caper..................

try unhooking the plug on the sensor after checking the fan for free spinning (w/ the key off) and to make sure its free. if the fan works it should come on when the plug is unhooked w/ the key on. just to rule out the fan. make sure the rad. is clean also.
