Clutch kit sportsman 800

If you want a complete kit go with a Dalton kit and get it from Rick Ritter.
But if you want to do it your self drop the weights on gram,go with an EPI pink primary spring and the next lighter TEAM secondary spring. This will compensate for big tires.

Again, thanks for the info. I don't care about the top end, only the hole shot. Perhaps he can do the trick.</end quote></div>
i did some testing w/ differnt springs that rick sent me and i settled w/ the dalton primary spring which is what they recommend for 27" tites/ you do not need to change the weights at all or change the secondary spring if you stay w/ 27" tires. on my 06' in order to put the complete clutch kit(which rick sent me to try) you would have to do a little gringing on the clutch to make the weights work on the install. i was not prepared to alter the clutch as its a balanced product. anyways dalton recommends using there orange/blue spring(which you can oreder thru rick riiter

Hey Stendori, I have basically the same set up as you with the 27" xtr tires. I am definately not going to do any grinding or anything like that. With just the spring, how much hole shot did you gain and did you lose any top end to speak of. Also, what is the top end on your new 08?

with this spring you do not loose any top end speed as it retains its top rmp's unlike some which make you go over your power band and make loose power. basicly it raises your clutch engagment from around 1350 to 1850 rpms and makes it a little jerky w/ take off(from the higher rpms) but no drastic changes. i noticed on my 06' it would make so i could wheelie again w/ all the extra weight from the tires and other stuff on front. it also was helped in not using the lowrange as much when i was going slow(not in the mud though) and was happy enough that i made the dealer change back over to the stock spring and gave me back my dalton spring. i havent put it in my 08' as of yet, but will sometime. maybe next year before mud season. as far as top end speed, not sure as its still breaking in w/ onlu 100 miles on it in 2 rides, but i think ive had it at 64 w/ the big tires on it.
