I have a 2005 sportsman 400, and the thing has alot of noise in the motor at idle, almost sounds like piston slap. Anyone else notice alot of noise at idle, it sounds fine once you get on the throttle. runs fine too, just didnt know if this is normal.

 

My '06 450 is noisy too. I have been told it is the oil pump?

 

Put a broom stick from your oil pump to your ear,I bet thats the noies you are hearing, you just get use to it after awhile.

 

my 700 does the same. I took mine to the local polaris shop and they said it was normal.
