Just q quick ride with my wife across the pasture- gorgeous evening in north Texas!! We were going slow and a beeping began (with source of the sound was near the battery area?). Obviously a warning but I couldn'e see anything wrong, adn when I got up a little speed, it quit. Was this an overheating warning or what?

The only beeping I've ever heard on my bike was my cell phone battery dying. Try to pinpoint the noise a little farther and see what you can find. From the factory I don't think theres a beeper to warn you.

 

I have the 2006 Sp 450 Factory Manual.............And two 450 quads..........And never heard any beeping or read of any..................I will check again in the manual just to rule it out totally........................................... ......How many beers did you have today!!!........LOL..LOL.......................... .Just kiddin'............Take care...............Caper...................

 

I did Checked the manual again........No sound warnungs are listed.............did you have any Electronic devices in the rear storage area that could have caused the sound?..................

BTW....An over-heating warning on the 2006 Sp and many others is shown by "HOT" on the readout flashing.............And the lighted speedo needle flashes also...............Caper.............

 

theres no beep sound on any of the sportsmans that im aware of. maybe its squeeking, or the only thing back there would be the solinode that would click if the star starter wasnt engaging.

 

My 800 has a beeper looking thing wired right next to the battery, but I've never heard any beeping from either of my SP's.

 

that would be the solnoide. lol.

 

LOL!! Its the only thing on my ATV that looks like it was place there as an afterthought.

 

Guys, not sure I should admit this on the board, but I'm a shrink. I know beeps when I hear them (Actually I'm a little hard of hearing so in this frequency range, they have to be relatively loud for me to hear. Wife noticed it first since she was closest (riding behind me)). No electronics found, nothing in the cargo hold.... that just isn't logical. Thanks for the replys and for checking the manual... Guess I'll keep looking for a logical answer! (First, I'll have to sneak in and check her sweater pockets :-) If I find anything, (that's not in her pockets), I'll let you know right here.

 

like i said back there by the battery there is a solniode which would click and maybe a relay that would click but never seen or heard anything on the sp 450(which i have the same one) that would make any type of beeps. but if you find it please post it so we'll know. good luck.
