#1
I have a 99 xplorer 300 and it will not run hardly at all it has been rebuilt and we have tried adjusting carb every withch way u can and it still just bogs down when u hit the throttle and back fires and spudders. Is there something electrical that it could be?

you say it runs crappy as soon as you hit the throttle? did you make sure theres a 1/8" in the throttle so the etc isnt kicking in.

i recently bought the same machine with the same problems. the guy i bought it from said if u hold in on the reverse override button sometimes it helps. so he was right but it still isnt hardly good eneough to get the wheeler to run back in the garage. My neighbor brought me over his service manual for his 95 wheeler and i began reading all i could about backfiring n running rough n found section referring to such instance and it said to try unplugging the black wire from the speed limiter and if it runs ok then check allswitches n such for good connection. i unplugged wire and she ran like a top! wow what a releif! now i just got to figure out what to do to make it right. CAREFUL! u may not have to use reverse override anymore to back up fast. This may bypass it n u could take off too fast in reverse! This was only recommended for a test! hope it helps u and in the meantime if anyone can tell me what to check, do , or replace on my 300 to actuall fix this problem the right way i would really appreciate the help, thanks! and good luck Supdty.

Don't worry about "fixing it right" you already have
Yes you have full power in reverse now and don't have to push the over ride button. Just leave the black limiter wire unplugged(tape the spade connector if you wish) This was a safety module for reverse that would eventually fail anyway and could limit in forward ,die when you placed it in reverse,or would just run crappy when they shorted out. You can replace the module for about 50-60 bucks, but not many people do. Only had a couple customers that wanted it replaced out of the dozens I unplugged. OPT
