The ignition does turn to on without the key by using some flat metal piece that the thief used. Turn kill switch to run. Use choke. Keep in neutral. Pull the rope. Is that all I need to do?????????????????????? or am I doing this all wrong???

 

is there a push button start, besides the key?? w/ the key on(switch in run position) yes it should start. pull plug out and see if its firing would be the easiest way to see if its working or not. just a suggestion.

 

40 bucks isn't too bad for an ignition switch. Seems like it was around 65 for my trail boss.

Stendori, I think you're right about the push button start. Not so much a push button on my 00, but the run/stop button rocks up to start.

Yes it has yellow start push button. Apparently they must have ran the battery down. Cause I turn the ignition switch with that slim brass piece they left for me. Pushed the button and nothing..... Pull the plug?????? Is that the spark plug and if so how do I know if its firing..... Giggles... This is a riot.... You guys must think I'm a mess.... Ha.

Since you're having to pull start it, you'll need a second person.

Pull the plug wire off, and hold it close to the engine block. When it's pulled, you should see a spark.

Also, you may want to check the plug wire for cracks BEFORE you do this. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

Its kewl. Just dont wont to put a money into it since its 8 years old. Now that its back, just want to ride it without hurting myself (lol) on my 75 acres of land. TY 4 the spark plug info.
