POLARIS FRONT YOKE
Noticed my driveshaft was loose(shaft between the tranny and the front differential) pulled it out and found the two u-joints nice and tight. The problem is where the yoke slides over the shaft for the front differential. Spoke to my dealer and he suggested changing the roll pin . Did that and it's still slack. He told me that the yoke is made to wear,it is made out of a softer metal then the shaft coming out of the differential this prevents damage to the differential. He said that the roll pin should be changed often maybe every oil change and this will keep it tight and prevent the yoke from wearing. I wish I had know this and I would have the pin is $2 so no big deal. But now I need to change the yoke and it is $100. This machine is very well maintained and it has 1400 miles on it. I'm dissappointed in the repair for sure. it is a 2005 500HO sportsman
