Well dbeck i know it's not illegal to ride a 3 wheeler , and it's not illegal to sell buy or trade a 3 wheeler ; and ban or no ban you can't buy sell or trade for a new ATC because the manufacturers no longer make them ! But just to show an exsample of what i was talking about , the Suzuki and Honda manufacturer's pulled their 3 wheeler's from the US market ; and started selling the one's still in stock overseas where the Court system's weren't as quick to hold them solely to responible for the people who go wild when they get on one ! And it was to set an exsample and as a warning for the other Manufacturers of the Liability they were already facing in the US Court's , before there were more injuries and death's on these ATC's ; and more lawsuit's on any new and bigger ATC's ! This remine's me of the anti gun movement , they didn't get their ban on hand gun;s and other type's of firearms that they deemed as assaut weapons and were termed as overkill as hunting firearms ; but they did make it harder to get a hand gun and other fire arm's ! They didn't get a ban on the sales of all hand guns and the assault type firearms whitch they were seeking , and they didn't get a ban on making the it illegal for private sales and trading of new and old gun's between private citizens selling and trading of firearms at flea markets and yard sales with out a federal firearms liciense in Ga. ; but they did get their waiting periods ! But here in Ga. the State Govenrnent and Law Enforcement Agencies got together and set up a computer system that's linked to a national data base , and most of the time it only take's 3 to 5 minute's to get the results of the background check ; so you can purchase the firearm if they don't have a federal offense record or wants and warrants again't them are approved ! And one other thing that Wal Mart and K Mart require that when someone purchase a firearm from their stores ( They don't sell Hand gun's anymore ) ; like all rifles and shotguns have a requirement that an employee has to carry the firearm to the exit door's of the store ! Some stores require the employee carry the firearm to your vehicle before putting it in your hands , and the purchaser/buyer can't purchase ammo and firearm at the same time ; You can go back inside and buy the ammo after you put the firearm in your vehicle ! But you take a chanch that it could be stolen by someone who see's you put your firearm in your vehicle , and go back into the store to purchase the ammo so what i do is buy the ammo first ; then go back in the store and purchase the firearm ! That way if someone did break into my truck all i would lose is the ammo , and that would be safer and cheaper than loosing you rifle or shot gun ; i don't know what became of the law the anti's were trying to get passed about a limit on how many firearms a person could purchase a week or month ! But the Anti Guns lobby to have Guns Banned altogether is their goal , and they won't be satified untill it's a crime for any law abiding citizen can't own a firearm of any type ; and they won't quit untill they get this law in affect and all firearm are collected and destored ! ........

sjbr549 the Honda Big Red Came with a 250 and 350 if my memory is correct , and Honda made a 2x2 All Terrain 2 wheel motorcycle they called it the Big Wheel ; a friend of mine had one back in the 80's that 2 small fat tires on the rims and both wheel's were shaft driven ! It kind of looked like a mini bike only the tire's were about 2 times the size of a mini bike , and the frame was longer and about a foot and a half taller ; but that thing would go just about everywhere a 4 x4 four wheeler would go and it was street legal with a tag i don't know why they stopped making them ! ...............

The title of the post says "1st ever AMERICAN built atv ever"

Last time I checked, Honda was not an American company.

 

The Honda Big Red was a 250. The fatcat's where dirt bikes with atv tires.

why not, back then honda was built and assembled outside of the us. polaris is an all ameican company(i think), and the made the first atv BUILT in america.

 

nothing is made in america. might be assembled in usa not made in.my '95 has a fuji engine and a made in the usa emblem. everything has canada,mexico,china,and tawian parts in it
