thanks im gonna need it. i have the service manual on my laptop that comes in pretty handy.

 

I don't know what Polaris calls it, whether CDI box or ECU; but my first guess would be that whatever gizmo makes the spark for the plug is dying. It works fine till it gets hot then it shorts out, and once it cools off it works again.

Uncover the engine enough to access the spark plug, start the quad and run it till it quits. Quickly pull the plug, ground it to the frame and check for a spark. You want a BLUE spark. If white or yellow spark is weak-replace part-if no spark, change plug and check for spark again(plug could be bad); if STILL no spark, replace whatever part controls-creates- spark.

 

have you looked at the throttle postion sensor.could be loose or broke wire

 

im having exact same problems with mine. i have a 7oo efi 2004. please post any thing you might find wrong with it its got me really confused. everyone keeps telling me it sounds like the coil. thanks
