i'll tell you why i think they told you that (imo) is because its messy when you take the tire off(which ive done twice) and makes it a hard job in changing the tires. i dont beleave theres anything thing in slime to cause alum rim break down. ive had them in both alum and steel rims w/ no effects. but this is my opinion on it.

conclusion that these damn 3 ply tires arent that great to holding to punchures. you guessed it just went for a 30 miles ride and on the way back hit a sharp something and put a 3/8" + slice in the thead put of the tire where theres no lug. pretty good since they still have the little rubber knobbs still on them. dont know if im going to put it off the rim and have it vulcanized or just try to plug it w/ a couple of plugs. they really need to be 6 ply and they would be a great tire. i think im just going to try a couple plugs as i really dont want to dismount it.</end quote></div>
the ones thst came on my 08 sp 500 were 6 ply, good tires.........

Well, experience is the best teacher. If it has been your experience that says it has served you well, I'd keep using it. Since they told me that and a different tire sales told my brother that, neither one of us has used it again. I used it a long time ago and could not get it to work for me, but I know others who had it work, including my brother.

They have decent tread and give a plush ride, but can't compare with a 6-ply for sharp edged stuff. I just hope the ones on my 500 last longer than 30 miles.</end quote></div>
Mine popped within 200 km. Get some real tires on, after i switched to mudbugs i realized how much more mud potential the sportsman had. But i took them off in favor of a set of 27 inch mudlites, great 6 ply tires, light and a good price. Good drive too, and alot better in mud.

As a current 3-ply PXT (stock) owner and
operator I ask the question, has anyone ventured
to upgrade to Carslie's Mud Wolf tire yet? Its 6-ply
and the reports are an impressive read, it supposed
to be the rival to the ever popluar Mudlite tire.
But humbley I am only talking of what I read no
experience yet.
