Default K&N

I got a K&N airfilter for my predator and my buddy said i would need to change my jets otherwise my bike would run like crap is this true??[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

Try it and see what happens. Usually the factory runs a pretty fat jet in them. Put it on, then do a high rpm run and then check your plug. A light tan is good. White is too lean, and black is too rich

unless you run an after market exhaust(free flowing) i dont beleave you would need to rejet as it only lets it breath a little more, but not like if it had better exhaust. like scram. said try it.

stendori... i have gone through years and years of schooling to get where i am today so i am a perfectionist in the nicest...

every thread i read you seem to have set a post already and you ALWAYS use the word beleave...

Hey What about a 600 twn 2005 carburated. Is K&N a viable option for me or will I need rejetting.

I would think you would be safe on a 600 as well. Just keep an eye on your plug for a little while and make sure it's not too lean. Anytime I've ever been too lean or rich you'll notice a drivabilty issue first, like a hard start or a midrange bog or something. It's not too often it's really far out and still running perfectly.

This is from K&N website "K&N Replacement Air Filters are ideal for extended use in dirty and dusty off-road riding and provide clean carburetion even at high altitude. As a rule, no jet changes are required with just a K&N filter element." Just do as others say ride for about a mile and check spark plug for the colors decribed, Good luck!
