Yeah i will take it in to the dealer this weekend to get it diagnosed. I have noticed 2 weird things, 1st the speedometer goes up when i gas it in 2wd so the RPM's go up, the speedometer shows how fast i should be going but im not moving. Im not sure what controls the speedo, im hoping this means i didn't break the chain as that sounds like the spendy fix. 2nd, if a chain came off and i still drove it which i did in 4 wheel drive you would think i would hear some clanking or noise from this broken mechanical part. I was hoping there was something electronic going on, because the EBS doesn't work anymore, maybe thats just controlled by the rear wheels and not the front? Keep the suggestions coming if there is anything i can troubleshoot. I dont see a drive shaft to the rear, i thought it was all internal chain driven? HELP HELP

Hi guys earlier today I was reading this forum and went ahead and took the rear off of my Magnum 500 4x4. I was hoping it was the splines on the axle shaft leading to the diff from transfer case. In my case it's something internal in the diff or possibly the axle. When turning the wheels the output on the diff turns as well. But if I put pressure with my hand on the output and turn the wheels the wheels turn freely. Any thoughts on what could be the issue? Axle or diff? Also how difficult is it to take out the axle if that is the case?
