spring spacers
#1
is it possible to get a little more lift out of the back springs by adding a spacer between the spring itself and the adjustable end on the bottom of the spring. right now i have the adjuster cranked, and it just doesnt seem to give the back end enough stiffness.

If you have access to a lathe I have engineered drawings for a 1" spacer for the rear. I have never made one for the rear, but I made a set for the front and they work really well. Send me a PM if you want me to e-mail the designs to you. Or you could buy some heavy duty springs. I have EPI HD front springs in mine and when I lift my plow the bike only sags 1/2"

I put some EPI heavy duty springs and a spacer on the front end of my 03 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. It took all the sag away and gave me at least an inch clearance under my front end. The ride is more rigid without the soft springs and the quad looks agressive without the sag. I used a 2" plastic electrical coupler for the spacer and it worked out well. The coupler is 2 1/2" long. You have to remove the strut to fit the spacer on top of the strut mount. FYI, the heavy duty springs are one inch shorter then the stock springs even though they are more rigid. I still had a little sag with just the heavy duty springs but with the spacer on, the sag is GONE!
