Really, it is not as bad as owning a minivan. Handguards are okay if you've earned them with the appropriate number of gashes, gouges, missing skin, imbedded thorns and splinters, and various other show-off-worthy injuries. I was thinking of them. I may have missed an answer, but does anyone have the Polaris ones mounted with the winch toggle switch also on the handlebar?</end quote></div>

Yes I bought a set of Black Polaris ones for my wife's 2006 Sp 450. The right and left have a different mount and if you use it with the winch toggle, then they give you longer bolts to put through the mount.......The ones for the winch mount are replaced!!!.........Caper...........

I had never heard of the Hand Guard macho thing, so I guess I missed
that one. But anyhow, I have the Polaris hand guards and for making "new"
trails especially, it helps with the brier patches, vines and brush that like to
snag the hands. I don't know much about the hand warmers thing, but ya
know I remember times where it was 20 and below and riding my ATV
froze my hands off?

And yes for those who are using the hand guards and rocket switch mounted
to the brake assembly I had to buy 2 1/2 to 3" lag bolts. It worked well with
my last setup on my 450, where I had my mirror added to it too!

Thanks Caper. That's about what I thought. I'll take a look at 'em next time I'm up to the dealership. I'm just joking about the manly stuff. I think it is the height of stupidity to harm your body to "appear" manly. I just enjoy sarcasm and making light of situations. Whatever you can afford to protect your body is a good thing to me. Just try to avoid hot pink if you can and I'll leave you alone...

Thanks again gents. My only issue will be with the screws. They were very difficult to tighten. Maybe threaded wrong??? I'll try to loosen them. If I can I'll probably go the handguard route and get some for my sons ATP.

I wear Gloves (not leather gloves) with the dishwashing plastic gloves inside and by some hot hand warmes and slip them between the glove and the top of my hands, last winter i pulled the side covers off and would put my hands down by the engine and catch the heat did okay but wished ID had some guards also, the man card didnt work cause my wife thought i was nuts anyway playing out in the ice and snow, she wanted to booger bear and hold each other while it was snowing.

I'm loving my handgaurds. I had a set of powermadd gaurds on my Scrammy and the Polaris ones on my SP. If I remember right the Powermadds were a lot more expensive than the Popo ones. But the Powermadd one had a removable cover so they would vent more in the summer. I never used them tho. I was always afraid I would lose them. And as far as them not being manly, tell that to ALL the racers that have them lol

Hobles,

Check out my PIC 11 and 15 in my
picture gallery for view of my setup of the
rocker switch, handguard, mirror and brake all
on the same assembly.

Wouldn't your rocker switch get in the way
of your thumb throttle?
