Just a quick update, got my hand guards and I think I am going to like them. Seem to keep the wind off my hands, hope this helps in 20 below weather. I did notice that even with the short bolts on the left side, they still hang down an extra 1/2 inch, and made plugging the electrical plugs back in kind of hard. I also did not tighten them up figuring I could adjust and tighten after I mounted them, but the left side screw is hidden behind the brake lever. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the head while I tightened the 8MM bolt from below.
Can't wait till Saturday to try them out!

Hey all, just to give you guys a laugh. We did our annual Veteran's Day ride up in the woods in NH. It had been really cold overnight and managed to struggle up to 50 late in the day. When we drove in on a railtrail it was awfully cold going 30mph when it was barely cracking freezing. I remember thinking about a full faceshield helmet pretty much the whole time on that first 10 miles. Hands were fine. Had an old pair of leather insulated ski gloves. Well we took a long loop ride and came out on a road that is notorious for mudholes with water on top. Well, I took lead and went through a few breaking up the inch thick ice on top of the holes. (Had to unbend the radiator guard) One of the last ones caught me by surprise and I filled up my left shoe with nice 33 degree water. Felt great... I'm also now thinking about riding boots, but still can't bring myself to get them...
