Should i buy 2004.5 500 Polaris?
I just wanted to get yalls opinion on this. I am looking at a 2004.5 polaris 500 that has 700 miles and about 150 hours i think. It has 27' gators and belt is snorkeled. The radiator is relocated to the front rack. I know this bike has been mudded and has a rebuilt motor with little miles ( i talked to the mechanic and he rebuilt it and split the case and cleaned it he said little to no dirt inside). It needs some front diff work but i can get it fixed for around $300. It runs good and has all ne wheel bearings and 2 re built axles. Do you think it is worth spending around $2000 for? I have been told by many that these polaris' have horror storys? thanks for any imput

I have a 04.5 sp 500 and its been a great quad. There were a few issues with it when it was new, but nothing compared to engine work. When they built it they routed the plug wire between the fuel tank and the frame. It shorted out and killed it. Easy fix. The other time the ECM or surefire module shorted out. $115.00 from polaris and an easy fix. Other than that its been trouble free. I think $2000.00 is a good deal. What are the tires worth alone? $400.00

As long as you know those 700 miles were HARD miles.......By the sound of if..........Example.Motor work,Rad relocation,snorkel..........Front Dif work with only 700 miles!.........It is good to know that up front before you buy...........For $2000.00 even if you need to spend $1000.00 of more ..You will still be ahead.............................Just be ready to fix stuff more often then normal......That my view....................Caper..........

I would say go for it. Thats a good price and like Caper says if it costs you another $1000, still not a bad deal</end quote></div>
