I have never used the slime, but I do carry a patch kit and small compressor with me when I ride. Deffinitly more reliable. Good luck on the slime it sure is the easy way if it works.

I put it in my tires and haven't had a flat yet. I had a slow leak from the day I brought my quad home from the dealership and it stopped that. I don't know how big of a hole it would stop up, but I definately think it's worth having. It'll stop 90% of the flats out there, at least long enough to get home.

Slime works pretty good at stopping holes up to 1/4 inch in the tread area and if you have a bad seal around the rim. It will not work very well if their is a hole in the sidewall, though. I have used slime in a few of my tires, mostly to stop slow leaks. You are supposed to use 16oz per tire. I get it at Quality Farm and Fleet as they are about the cheapest around ($6.99 for a 16oz bottle). If I was you, I would remove the tire and attempt to find the hole (if there is one) and use a tire plug on it if you can. After you get it plugged, then you can use the slime as backup.

After a ride last summer I found a large nail sticking into my back tire. It was worn way down, must've been there a while. It never lost any air because of the slime (you could see it around the nail). Slime saved me a tow to the trailer.

Had a slow leak a week after I brought my quad home from the dealer. The dealer gave me a bottle of slime and it worked great. Now I have a few bottles around just in case.

Slime is grea stuff, have it in all my 4 wheelers before I get a flat. The cheapest place to get it is at a target store $5.99 for 16oz bottle. If you put 1 bottle per tire you should be good till your counting how many plys are showing and you know its time to get new tires. Works great on thorns also as well as nails and after you roll over your friend who fell off his 4 wheeler.......oops

Slime is good on nails, screws, thorns and the like. Not so good on sidewall punctures, and useless if you have a 4 inch gash in the tire
