From my searching, there are not kits for 05-07 Polaris Sportmans for a mounting bracket for a rear winch that could be located just below the bumper or in the position of the rear cargo box. i have seen plenty of pictures of nice mods to do this. I know, warn makes a multi mount kit- I dont want that. And yes Montana Jacks has a kit that raises it up by attaching it to the hitch-dont like that. Does anyone have the specifications for a bracket they have made that can be made for this? Either position would be fine.

 

I'm still waiting for my new winch to show, but when it comes in I'll have lots of pictures for you to see. If you want to go all out get the MV winch switch so you can control both winches from one rocker switch on the bars. I know my bars are too crowded for another mini rocker

 

I do not know how different the 2004.5 and the latest models are, but this guy has a rear custom winch mount:

I know you said you didn't like the receiver hitch set up for the rear winch but I'm not sure what bumper you have and there's not much room above it for a winch where the tool box is.....My solution was to make my own receiver hitch similar to the MJ one and it sits just below the rear bumper....For now I just use it for a rear rack but I'm gonna get another winch oneday for the rear and stick it in the receiver..I got some pics for ya if you wanna check them out....
