1987 ploaris cyclone???????

ok guys need some help here i bought a pair of 87 ploaris cyclones the problem
i have is there is power coming out of the magneto when you pull it over the goes to the cdi box and no power at all!!! coming out of the cdi so bought another cdi
off ebay the guy swears its good but i still have the same problem any ideas at all????????? also im told these are rare? how rare and is it worth tying up some money in these????? i was told by polaris they made these 250 2 strokes to compete with the banshee any thughts on that?? can this 250 be that quick? thanks guys have a good one!!![img]i/expressions/beer.gif[/img]

I could be wrong but I dont think they will be competing with any banshees. check out ritter cycle he does lots of clutch work for Polaris ATV. the auto in stock form is mellow but with clutch and engine work they can be made to go quite a bit faster and get there quite a bit quicker

The Cyclones were not as detuned from the factory as the later Trail Boss and Trail Blazer were.
As far as competing with a Banshee, I think he's blowing a little smoke your direction.

The bikes may be worth working on . If you have two one may be an organ donor . The won't compete with a banshee , they are a reasonably high tuned polaris 250 in one of polaris's early frames . They ran hot often and wore out the piston rings and bores often . The clutching runs 1000 rpms higher than later models , the port timing is much more aggressive and was tuned down in later years .
