Default 1997 sportsman carburetor problem/ question

hey out there, first post. i have been reading alot of the carburetor discussions covering the mikuni cv carb and have found that i have a problem like some of the others out there with intermittent operation. right after i go through the carb, cleaning all the orifices and jets, check for wear and replace parts( needle jet, jet needle, main jet, pilot jet, needle and seat my machine runs very well, however afer it sits for a few days, the macine starts and idles great but has about 50 percent power and 50 percent topend. i have checked and eliminated choke plunger, intake foam, rev limiter, plugged jets drained the fuel from tank, checked throttle adjustment and adjusted floats. i cant figure how simply draining the carb and starting over can make the machhine run well and after a little time sitting or for that matter idling, it runs poorly. the plug is new, the fuel is 91 octane air filter is new, i have checked for intake leaks, the diaphragm is not comprimised and the slide is smooth and has relatively tight tolerances. the posts that closely resembled mine ended with out a solution, please help.
