Help. I am looking at a 2002 used Polaris 700 sportsman. twin cyl. I havent seen the ATV yet but they say is is very clean. It is has a small hole in lower end and is locked up. I can probably get the block welded but I am not fimular with the 700 block. Is it one solid piece? Or upper and lower halves. And I am sure the rod is gone. Can the crank be built up on these and turned down? I know some small air cooled engines I have had the crank rebuilt. What is the worst case secernio is I have to replace it with a used engine, and how hard to find. I imagine a new engine would be out of the question. I figure if I have $1000. in the engine I would still have a good deal. I would be doing the work myself. Also do you know of any large ATV salvage yards I might check at. I also need a front luggage (fiberglass rack) for a 1994 Polaris 300. Any help appreciated.
