Default 2 questions, AWD and pulling left or right

Hi, I'm new here as you can tell. I have been lurking for a while now and decided to join today! I'm excited to learn from you guys. I'm a new ATV owner and just recently purchased a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO with 233 miles (My first ATV).

I live in Bailey, CO (elevation 9100) and I primarily have been using my ATV for work around my land. I have a utility trailer and Glacier plow system.

I have 2 questions for you guys.

#1 - When hauling 700-800lbs, going down hill, steep grade, low gear, in AWD the ATV will want to pull fairly hard to the left or right depending. This also happens when the plow is attached and up. Is this a problem or normal? Doesn't do it when going up hill.

#2 - I've read the owners manual from cover to cover twice and have not been able to find any indication of top speed limitations when in high gear AWD. I do realize the speed limitations when in low gear AWD. Is there a speed limitation when in high gear AWD?

Thanks

The problem is that your Popo only has rear engine braking. When decending a steep grade with a plow attached and 800 lbs. at the rear, your rear tires are locking up and pushing you right and left. I would stay in low and use your front brakes to slow you down. You might not have this problem if your Popo had ebs and adc as the newer ones do.

Thanks

Well, I'm not sure if both wheels are spinning. I will check on that. If that is the case what can I do to prevent it from happening?

Any ideas on the speed limit when in AWD?

Edit: If the hubs are sometimes not working why does it only happen with a heavy load going down hill?
