Default 2000 425 POLARIS XPEDITION

Hello. In past couple of months while operating in awd the awd indicator light goes out and my awd stops working. I have done everything from tracing wires looking for corrossion at the connectors changed the hub oil I noticed a little condensation in the speedo it was removed and dried out. Im ready for the dealer to take a look unless some one has any advice for me. Thanks Mark.

You may want to check the battery and the charging system. If they're not putting out enough volts it maybe keeping the awd from working properly.

Thank you very much. I purchased a new battery today. I have a front and rear electric wench conected to one battery and the front one is hooked up to the plow. I think with just using the bike to plow it is not getting enough run time for charging. Thanks again Mark.

I hope it solved your problem. I just had to buy a new battery myself, for what its worth, I had to buy a battery about a year and a half ago after the original battery died. I bought an after market brand and like i say it only lasted about a year and a half. I was told from some friends of mine who also own polaris atv's that you have to buy the polaris batteries because for what ever reason the after markets just don't last. good luck.

Had a talk with a sales associate at a BatteriesPlus store about a battery for my 2000 425 Xpedition. He advised getting a no maintenance battery instead of a vented one as it would last much longer, especially if riding hard.

He also said to get optimum life from it or a mower battery anything like that, to purchase a trickle charger and keep it plugged it to that.

Of course if you park it in the shed with no power like I do, that's kinda hard to do.
