Default I need winch feedback!!!

Greetings Everyone,
I'm the CO-CEO of MotoAlliance and we are the developers of the VIPER line of winches. It seems like less expensive winches get a bad reputation and that is often true as they are made with VERY cheap and flimsy parts.

I want to emphasize that this is NOT true of the VIPER winch. Our largest dealer in NY (who has bought over 60 VIPERS in the last 6 weeks and can't keep them on the shelf) was able to swap a WARN part into our VIPER winch no problem.

We have taken great pains to make an excellent winch. Our VIPER MAX line is fully waterproof up through 4500lb's and is made with metal gears. It has been an excellent winch. I think you'll be most happy paying 1/3 the cost of the WARN while getting the same quality.

Take care everyone!

Peter

Good questions....and good WARNing. LOL.

First, our dealer didn't say why or what happened to the VIPER MAX that made him swap in a WARN part. He does repairs so I'm guessing somebody busted one up on a ride. Guys can get pretty aggressive riding!

Second we've had to address the Gorilla/Venom/Xtreme/VIPER question before....as it can get confusing. Let me explain it this way:

We (MotoAlliance) began listing VIPER winches about 4 years ago. The guys who run Gorilla were our partners. They brought the winches in, we sold some of them. Then, several things happened at once.

1. One of our employees bailed suddenly on a Friday afternoon....totally out of the blue. Then he decided to start his own company in direct competition with ours. He named his winches Venom to try to confuse the VIPER connection and then brought in another set of identical or nearly-identical winches and called them Xtreme. He did this to try to dominate the E-bay market....but Venom and Xtreme are the same company. One look at their listings makes this obvious too. We are not on terribly good terms with him and don't know about the quality of the Venom/Xtreme winches.

2. At the same time, we decided to split from any connection with the guys who run Gorilla and now have our own contacts in China. The Gorilla guys then brought in their own winches too. I have historically been friends with those guys. Philosophically we are very different. They are strictly importers of primarily winch related products. We are a full-service ATV accessories business with much more than winches (tires, plows, brushguards, etc.)

I don't know about Gorilla winches. I can't speak to their quality. I do know that we have worked extremely hard to achieve WARN quality standards. I am VERY confident in the quality of our VIPER winches as they compare to WARN or RAMSEY.

Besides our winch quality and full product line, we believe the main things that separates us at MotoAlliance is our customer service. We are the only company that offers direct, toll-free service for orders and service. We answer phones, take orders, and answer questions during normal business hours and answer e-mails nearly 24-7. Our business has grown like crazy....it's been quite fun. And now we just added the 3500lb-4500lb VIPER MAX in a fully waterproof edition. They are awesome winches.

I hope that helps clear up some of the confusion. Look for our ads on ATV Connection towards the end of January. Take care and merry Christmas.

And that coming from a guy who didn't get our VIPER Polaris Accessories and is using a WARN instead of the VIPER?!!?!!! Kidding of course.

We do sell $50 samples to prospective dealers who are willing to make $500 minimum orders. Otherwise, we'd be happy to give ATV Connection discounts like we do for the guys on Highlifter.com. It's not much.....usually between $5 and $15 depending on the size of the order.....but every little bit helps!

We are selling about 30 winches a day over the Christmas season these days and the reviews are getting out there more and more. It's been fun to have people "discover" us over the past few years. WARN is in serious trouble!
