Replaced Polaris Winch!

Replaced Polaris Winch!
I didn't realize Polaris is making their own winches. It was my understanding that they were using the Warn product. Not the case anymore.
I have used my winch for only TWO snow storms and it refused to raise the plow every 5th time. In fact, sometimes going down the winch would free-spool out!
I brought it to the Dealer twice and they had to replace it. That's when I learned it was not a Warn.
I also noticed that it's very noisy compared to my old Warn winches.
Anyone else having problems with their Polaris 2.5 winch or have any comments?

Sorry, can't help you there. When I got my new 800EFI a month ago, I insisted on getting a WARN winch despite the dealer telling me it really wasn't worth spending the extra $$$. I insisted. Thanks... your loss makes me feel better that I made the right choice!!
I hope you had them replace it with a Warn...

I had a very similar problem with my winch. After it quit working completely (in the middle of plowing the first snow this year) I contacted the dealer and he told me it was the solenoid. From his response it sounded like he had seen this more than once. I took the solenoid out and he exchanged it with one that looked identical with one exception - it said Warn on it.
I threw it in and everything has been working perfectly.

Replaced Polaris Winch!
Another quick update.
I used the newly replaced Polaris winch to plow an inch of snow this AM and guess what?
It free-wheeled out only one time in 50 up/downs. But now it refused to go down. (before the prob was going up)
Go figure!
It's at the Dealer again and now they are replacing the selinoid which is a black box mounted under the right side of the front fender somewhere. I can't see it.
IF this was a Warn winch, I wouldn't be having these problems. Also, on a Warn winch the pull teather hooked to the cable clip would read "WARN". My pull teather is orange, not the Warn red and has no writing on it.
Will keep you all informed.
Thank-you for all the feedback so far.
