? for all about the warn rt30(xt) vs the rt25(xt) winch. Per Warn, other than the remote control and 6 gauge battery wires (8 gauge for 25). All of the parts use are the same.

Just where did Warn determine that the rt30 is good for another 500lb load. Got to be the battery wires! Heck, that is a cheap upgrade to get. 2 3' leads of 6 gauge wires with ends.

I am sure the motor on the 30 is wound differently than the 25 for more power and all the other parts are the same - battery wires dont give more power. more power requires bigger wires not vice versa

I would of thought that also, but looking at the parts breakdown, there the same part number "A" Motor: 73900.

Again the only difference is the battery cable, being able to handle more current.

All other parts are the same per Warn.

Interesting!

I will second you on that TarHeel1...Brutus450 is the man. With his measurements, I was able to successfully cutout my panel as well (updated photos).

Brutus450, has anyone told you that you are awesome!?

Folks, I ain't trying to sell winches 'cause I really don't know anything about them but I just purchased a model specific winch kit for my 03 Sportsman 400 from Venom Winches for $131.00 shipping included off ebay. When I got it the contactor was defective.I emailed Venom Winches about the problem and 4 days later I received a new one in the mail.It works fine.I think for their customer service and price Venom Winches are a good deal for the money
