Scrammy I have the same bike, so I will make sure I get the LT fluid. Any other fluid types I should watch.

Engine etc...?

I never owned an ATV, but I found an excellent deal in Macedon New York and I bought my son and I one. I am now asking for forgiveness, I would have never got permission for them.

Thanks

I,just checked my manual for my 2008 sportmans 500ho efi and it say to use demand drive Lt premium fluid, and goes on to say that other fluids may result in improper operation of components.

I got this information from the ATVQUADSQUAD forums.

Click HERE for dealer fluid spec sheet.

Click HERE for a PDF file on the '07 800.

Both show that the LT is the proper fluid.

Click HERE for a picture I took out of my owners manual, that clearly shows the difference between the information (or lack thereof) in it and in the on-line manual, regarding the LT fluid.

Click HERE for another pic from my owners manual that doesn't mention the LT fluid.

I heard that the regular Demand Drive Fluid is going to be completely removed from the shelves, as the LT will work in everything, new and old, ADC and non-ADC.

I have had my front diff replaced also. The dealer found wire that goes to the diff had been pinched when the machine was built. They said it was causing it to continualy go in and out of 4wd. I had just changed the front diff fluid and used the Premium Demand Drive fluid per my service manual. It started making clunking noices the very first ride after the change, after the second ride I took it to the dealer and the front diff was toast. I am convinced it was the fluid and not the wire. The dealer thought they had sold me the correct fluid because they gave me what the service manual said to use. I asked what fluid they used when they put the new diff in. They said it came pre lubed. They did call Polaris while I was standing there. Polaris told them that the Demand Drive LT fluid was the correct fluid and that they were going to discontinue selling the Premium Demand Drive fluid.

This seems to be a problem for sure. It would be nice if Polaris would send a memo to ALL the dealers and let them know about the new oil.

Sheepdog, I see they mention in your manual that it has ADC, but no mention of the new fluid.

I've been using synthetic Mobile 1 ATF in my from gear case, with no problems.
