Default new to the forums... need help

Hi all, I'm new to the forums, but a long time rider. Started out in the 70's on dirt bikes onto three wheelers, and now riding quads since I bought a '87 Worrier. I now ride a '98 sportsman 500 and I need help. I changed the battery about two weeks ago. It ran fine for a while and now no spark to the plug. Everything else works fine, lights, turns over fine, just no spark to the plug. I pulled off the cover under the headlight and found two broken wires. Fixed those and still nothing. Help a storm is on the way.

Key switch and or Red engine kill switch would be a good place to start...........They both will not give you spark if they are faulty!!!.......Caper.............

I would check first to see if they are clean ...........I mean no bad connections............This can be done with a multi-meter set to the ohms scale and check each position on the switch...........This will tell you if the are making contact(continuity) between the different positions...........Caper...............
