Default hand and thumb warmer

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will tackle the install on Sunday, and should get to try them out Monday and Tuesday with some fresh snow...

Hope everyone has a Great New Year....

Default hand and thumb warmer

I did the Pure Polaris Handgrip warmers and thumb warmers myself as well. The Air Compressor trick works as advertised. Just put a finger over the small hole on one grip, and put the air nozzle against the other small hole. I got the first one off with only 30psi. I then used my hand to cover the bar end, and reapplied the air chuck to the same small hole, and off came the second grip.

As for the switch, I used the one that came with the kit, and wired both the handgrips and thumb warmer to the same switch so I wouldn't have to install two switches on the dash. I mounted the switch to the right of the Speedo. The thumb warmer on high can cook an egg and (at least on my 800EFI) gets much hotter than the grips. I use high when riding to get the grips and thumb hot, then switch to low so neither gets too hot. A little dishsoap and the stock grips slide right back on, but don't take your time or they get hard to slide on pretty quickly.

I'm getting the power for mine from an auxillary fuse box I installed from Painless Wiring, so I may be getting more power then tapping into an existing circuit. Just a thought.

I installed the Hot Grips on mine and the grips get very hot, enough to be uncomfortable without gloves on. I thought about wiring both to the same switch but was told some wire parrel and some wire in series and might not get the correct amount of power.

Went to the local electronic shop today to pick up 2 illuminated rocker switches. They did not have any nor could they order them... I would prefer to install the lighted rocker switches vs. wiring in an LED with the switch. Does anyone know where I can get these online?

Thanks
HAPPY NEW YEAR..
