Hi all, this is my first day on this site. 2 weeks ago I traded in my boat for a new 2008 polaris 800 and I love it! I'm 43, married, and love fishing. Traded in the boat because being an electical contractor, I don't have enough time to get out in the summer. Plus by putting on a plow and a winch, I was able to talk the wife into letting me get this for "home snow removal" My Dad got me hand and thumb warmers for christmas, so I'm getting ready to install it now. Where would be the best place to mount the switch? And what do I do to get the rear worklights to go on? Help would be very much appreciated. TIA

ICE...

First of all welcome to the site.....You'll find it very informative here...What hand/thumb warmer kit did you get? I just finished installing mine a couple weeks ago...I have the Symtec winter pak on mine and think it is one of the best out there..As far as the work lights on my 05 there is a toggle on the pod which turns them on....But since then I've upgraded that to have the worklights come on whenever I am in reverse......Here's a good link to where you can get some good upgrade kits though it's not where I got mine....Good luck....

welcome. the back up lights are all wired and just need to add bulbs and the switch in the pod. you'll see if you pull the pod apart on the back side where the cut out spots are and the 2 wire plug which goes in it. i would put the thumb warmers in the same place on the pod as there is 4 cut out places. do a search for back up lights and you'll see all kinds of post on it.

once you take the 3 screws out and flip the speedo upside down you'll see the cut ouit sections.

The pod is fairly soft plastic. Once you drill a hole, you can use a utility knife with a fresh blade and trim a little at a time until its a perfect fit.
