Default Removing Decals

Is there any way on an 07 800 to remove the warning sticker on the gas tank and the one on the front fender, it seems they are molded into the plastic.

dont know about the 07 but on my 08 i used a heat gun and a spray bottle with a mix of water and dish soap and used a sharp razor blade. they were extremely difficult for me to get off. but just take your time DO NOT RUSH. i did chip a spot off of my stealth paint because i went a little to fast.

also dont press to hard with the razor blade. you could scar the plastic.

oh yea i used go be gone to get the glue off. did good.

good luck

I did my 07 but that is the one I had problems with and marred my paint. I have an auto paint on mine. Because that one gets so much sun, it kinda cures on there before the others do. Even though my quad was new when I removed the stickers, that one was very hard to get off. I should have done that one last as I became better at it and got a little more patient when removing the others.

Definitely a hair dryer and pull very slowly. I like to use goo-gone to remove the residue and it won't hurt the plastic like alcohol will. Alcohol will weaken the plastic and often dull it. Goo-Gone is citric acid and won't hurt the plastic finish.

The hair dryer will take some time but it works. Have fun!

I did it with hair dryer too...The first thing I did when I came back from the dealer.I hate all those warning sickers. I just not remove the one to say I could be two onboards.....just for be legal on trail.
Like some said maybe is more difficult with the matt black paint.....I'm afraid off for my next touring purchase...

UPDATE: I used my wife's steamer and a razor blade scrapper. It worked real well. I reccomend a sharp blade. Also I used Goo Gone, then soap and water, then alchohol to remove gummy residue and clean the area. All is good.

I agree with take it slow, I hurried one time and shaved off some plastic, but it's still fine. I had to remove over 10 decals and two of them were HUGE. It was around one hour's time for the steaming removal.

Thanks to all-
