I ride through a lot of weeds and brush. What was the best way to get all the crap out of radiator?
I also have to climb steep hills to get to my riding area. Some time its hard to get out of low range is this normal for new spho?

2001 YELLOW SP500HO

THANKS IN ADVANCE ROWDY

Hi Rowdy:

Glad you got your HO. I remeber a previous post looking for the best price. Where do you ride? I am not very far from you.

I have 5 very hilly acres(40ft 30-60 deg inclines) I live on. That open up in the back to a power line trail and a strip mine with lot of trails. Works for mine must be 4x4 fans! Best part I did not know the trails were ther untill last night. It was like christmas all over again. I was like a kid in a candy store! But mine was filled with mud snow and ice. I have riden every night till just after dark. What a blast!!!

The best way I found to access the radiator to wash gunk out of it was to take the plastic side sheilds off. Just 3 or 4 screws holding them in plus the O rings that hold the screen in front of the radiator.
Being hard to shift out of low is common. As the engine loosens up, the idle speed increases. Try slowing down the idle speed a hair & see if that helps. Sometimes they idle fast enough the front pulley puts a slight pull on the belt even at idle.

Hi ROWDY:

That does sound like a blast. There is a place in Martinsville that is fun riding as well. Let me know if you ever want someone to ride with. It sounds like it would be fun.

BTW I have a 2000 Scrambler 400 4x4.

See ya

Hey, count me in for a ride too. I'm right between the two of you.

Kevin, what about this place in Martinsville ? Is it private property ? Open riding area ? Never heard of anything there.

Hi IndyDave:

Lets go....

Martinsville is private land but lots of people ride there. It is off of 67 / 37 split. It is some land that is being cleared for a housing addition. It is being cleared (has been going on for a long time)so there are what amounts to logging roads and trails.
