Default Warn 4.0 on Sportsman?

Is it possible to stuff a Warn RT40 winch onto an 800 Sportsman? I know the mounting pattern is bigger for the 40, and it is for UTVs, not ATVs.

The reason is that my Warn 3.0ci winch holds 50' of 3/16 cable, and I need a slightly longer cable. I considered using an extension cable and a pair of parallel gripping pliers, but a longer cable would be so much easier to use. The RT40 has 55' of 7/32" cable which should be enough, or I could put 3/16" cable on it which would probably give me well over 60' of cable.

Could you mount it on the hitch on the rear?

I would suggest getting stuck closer to the trees

I'm using the Polaris to clear some property I own, but to get the Polaris up to the property (mountain property) I have to winch it up a 40 degree incline for around 60 feet. Once I get a driveway in, end of issue.
