As always very nice pics! Love the track look. Question for you, it seems you use the heck out of yur quad and take many Epic rides, why is it that you get the mid size popos and not a full size sportsman? Not saying yur qaud is a slacker. Just wondering if wieght is a factor for you or what yur thinking is?

Thanks for the positive input guys, I'll try to answer all the questions here. The photo shown is on Kootenay Lake across from Kaslo BC. Ten miles from home.

The Grizzly was actually hit by a friends truck in Northern Alberta. About 600 lbs I think they said. He's the reason I don't modify my ATV's. I don't want to break down and have to walk home through his back yard

I like the mid sized quads because of the lighter weight and manoueverability. They. have a much lighter footprint for floatation on the tracks I just don't need the extra size and weight. The tracks only sink in about 8-9" in 6 feeet of snow. Power is good as the main use is for climbing, not blasting around.

And to answer Stendois question about photobucket, I'm having a hell of a time posting from photobucket consistently but soon hope to open the album for everyone to see some of the day trips I take.

Thanks again.

Nice Pics. Mongrol! Does the windshield really help with wind/snow breeze and throwback?
And is your friend okay after the Bear hit? I can't imagine what it did to his truck? Deer
around here hit/killed by cars usually kill or seriously injure the rider/passenger let alone total
out the car.

Regards,

The link worked. That is a GOOD looking quad. I like the tracks but not real fond of all that snow. Seems like the older that I get the less I like the cold and around here it isn't nearly as cold as what you guys deal with. That is BEAUTIFUL country up there, those pic's are GREAT!!!

Regards,

The windshield is Super, wouldn't be without one now.

Apparently the bear, after it was hit, got mad and tore hell out of the front of the already damaged truck before it died.

Have you had a chance to rate your GAS mileage running those tracks?
Would it be better or worse. I would think worse since more mechanical parts
are moving but than again maybe it takes less thrust to move your Quad?

Fuel consumtion so far appears to be about 1 to 1.5 Canadian gals per hr. Gal is about 20% larger that US gal. Burns about 40 % more fuel with tracks, but what the "H" does that matter?

not too mention that cold weather is alot harder on gas then warm is. w/ the extra friction and weight of the tracks it should be alot harder indeed of gas.

Yep Sten, you're right. The parasitic drag of the tracks is high. There are new models of tracks out that are low drag.
