Scrambler clutch problems?!?!?! please HELP ASAP!

If it worked fine before you put on the new belt, chances are the new belt is either wider or shorter than the old one was. The 'right' way to cure this is to shim the pulleys, etc, etc. The way most people do it is to ride around until the belt stretches enough to not drag. Just don't let it idle in gear (use Neutral) for prolonged times as it may build up heat until it loosens up.

The other thing would be to slow down your idle if possible.

I took the cover off just now, and everything looks to be normal. The belt is alot tighter than the old one, so I guess the belt will just stretch out over time. I hope thats it. Thanks FARMR and everyone else. You guys are awesome.

Hope you bought the right size belt because they are tuff and do not stretch that much.I think you should of when for you ride and tried to wear the belt into place.

I checked the part number on the belt and its the right one.

Mine did the same thing when i put a new belt on it.But it went away after a couple days of riding.

Hey jeepster, I was out in your neck of the woods today. We were working at Keesler AFB, and ran out of burning oxygen, and had to go to GP to get a cylinder on Three Rivers Road. There's no welding supplies in Biloxi, only casinos and gun stores...
