Hello my name is Kenny and i have a problem with my 2001 polaris 500 sportsman Ho, i bought a new voltage regulator and battery and i still don't get but 12 volts showing on my meter when it is running. The voltage is dropping slowly. Can anyone tell me what i need to check now to fix this and get 14 volts? Thanks everyone, Kenny

Recheck the connections on the regulator/rectifier,plus check the main harness coming up(on the right side) for the yellow,yellow/red and red wires that tie in(one could have come loose) Also just check with a test light to see if the red wire coming into the reg/rectifier has 12 volts while running.If all this checks out,head back to the battery connections,make sure they are tight. If they are ok,then either stator problem or battery. OPT
