NEWBIE! Info please!! Help
#1
Ok, so I just purchased an 05 Sportsman 400 today. I have a few questions that I would like answered. if you know, by all means, please chime in! I appreciate the knowledge!! Here they are...
1. what does the "reverse/override" button do?
2. I did the "up to a tree and spin 'em" test, and four tires spun. So, I'm assuming it has locking diffs?
3. Am I safe to go up to the air intake in water or should I do other waterproofing first?
4. What is the max size tires can I put on with factory suspension set-up?
5. How oftne should I change my oil?
6. I'm going to fab up a winch mount bracket. Where does factory winch attatch to frame?
If you can help me out, please do! Thanks a lot!

The yellow button also pages through the trip, tach, hr meter, odometer, etc.
#6, the winch traditionally mounts behind the polaris logo on the front of the bike. The black plastic cover pops off and reveales an area for the winch. 27" tires will fit on an 05 chassis without a lift. I have been up to the air intake on my 800 without any waterproofing, but I did fill up the clutchs.

Thank you so much! My wife always makes fun of me for joining forums... she has no idea how valuable they are. I appreciate all the help! I had time to go for a lil' rip last night and I love the thing!
Does someone have a pic of a winch mount? I want to weld up my own. Can someone take a picture of there's so that I can match it. I know where you mean to mount it, but could someone also take a pic of it mounted inside so I know the position of it. If you can post them in this thread, great. If not, please email them to me. nicholsontj@gmail.com Thanks a lot
