I have a brand new 2 month old 2008 500 HO and it has the same problem, it has plenty of power and get up and go. but it has slow throttle response off the line.

dont know what to do?</end quote></div>

Trade it in for an EFI. More power and better mileage.</end quote></div>

I raced a 500 efi X2 and I beat it on the start ,acceleration and top end. Of course the x2 is over 100lbs heaver than a H.O,

the efi 500s are rated at 36hp while the h.O is 34.5hp ,hardly enough power difference to ever notice.

1.5hp is the power of a gas weed whacker. I agree the efi has better gas milage though.

Ok, heres the whole story. i had the atv for less than a month when we went to durham town plantation, which by the way it you have never been it is absolutly worth the trip, we rode pretty hard the first day and just before we start to head back to camp i end up sinking it in a mudhole full of clay/water. so i take off the seat to check the fitler and that was when i realised that there was no filter!!!
so i took it back to the dealer and they ran some tests and drained all fluids. it feels like it doesnt have as much power but that could be because it has a filter now and there is less airflow than not having a filter. but the slow throttle response has always been there. i would especially notice it when i was turning from a dead stop.

I had an non-EFI 500 H.O, and a non-H.O. 500 before that and never had any problem with throttle response. The H.O. kicks the older 500's butt, and I could really feel the difference when I lauched it. But my Trailblazer sure had slow response. I'd hit the gas and wait. Once it was moving it was okay.
