I have a dilemna.

Won ebay auction for 2006 Polaris 2500 Winch (used)

I was under the impression it was a warn, after reading some threads here, I do not think it is.

Now the seller NEVER implied or stated that it WAS a WARN, so hes not at fault, I am.

Havent paid yet, thinking of backing out a ruining my feedback rating cause I fiure he will give me a negative.

Price is $189 even. I can get new Gorilla 3000# for less than that.

What would you do? Continue with the first deal and take chances with Polaris winch or back out and buy a Gorilla?

just get it, the guys I ride with have broke a couple Warn's but never the stock Polaris brand, I heard they are the same and I have heard just the opposite.

I sell and buy alot of stuff on ebay and I don't think you should mess up your feedback.

if it is a black winch and says "polaris" on it-- it is not a warn, but pretty much an exact knock off of a warn (parts are interchangeable). not 100% sure though, but i've seen the parts interchange. I don't think there is much different in quality of the parts, i've broken both brands (polaris and warn).

In my opinion you're much better off with a Polaris winch than a Gorilla.

well for my 2 cents since you bid and won it i would take so your name will still be intact. ive done the same mistaske myself on something, but since im a man of my word i take it no matter what and resell it if i had to. beside that winch is most likely fine and you wont have any issues. hopefully you go the wiring and contacter w/ it.

you won it you should pay for it - it cost the seller time and money

ive had that thought on stuff too before but never went thru with it. Like Sten said - just re-sell it

who knows - take better pictures and write a better ad - maybe you could get more money than you paid

Thanks for all the replies. I will end up buying it and keeping my fingers crossed. It doesnt come with manual or instructions, anyone have any idea where I could find some BASIC instructions? brutus450, I thought I read on a nother thread that you bought one of these, but I only see WARN's on your pic page? Did you install the one you bought, did you return it, sell it? If you kept it hows it working so far.

it might just be the newer winches that are not that good... like 08?? if you dont like it doesn't the seller offer any kind of satisfaction guarantee?? oh and by the way how did you make out with your maintenance issue a couple of months back??
