1999 Polaris Big Boss 500
There is a 1999 Polaris Big Boss 500 6X6 for sale close to me for what seems like a good price of $2600. It's well taken care of and looks used, but certainly not abused. it has 900 hours on it.
If it's been maintain properly, does it have plenty of life left, or is it pretty at the end of it's life no matter how well it's been maintained. To my knowledge, it's completely stock with nothing rebuilt.
Thanks for any light you can shed here. I've had plenty of Hondas, and I have a Yamaha now, but I know nothing about the Polaris.

Well Prezzz, I have two quads with about 150 hours each. These have been through serious rock climbs that left me wondering, "what can't these do"? We've also been out on ice, through deep mudholes, out in the dust, out in the rain, out in the snow. They have not been babied and are holding up great. I wouldn't consider 900 hours a problem personally. Oh, we also use the quads for hauling wood out of the forest, etc. If the person has proof of scheduled maintenance and hasn't driven it off too many cliffs it is probably okay, in my mind. Check the chains and sprockets and take it for a high speed run if you can. The engine is pretty bulletproof. If everything sounds good at high speeds it is probably in pretty good shape. Just my .02 worth.
