Default 08 SP 500 EFI Touring on the short list, how much should I pay?

I'm hoping to be out the door for ~$7000 +/- a couple of hundred. Is that realistic? I know its tough to call in different markets, but what did you all pay for similar vehicles?

Thanks!

Just did the research myself. I went to www.cyclebuy.com and paid the fee to get invoice on a 500efi. I am picking up a stealth 500efi tomorrow for 200 over. (6750) including winch promo package. Also was able to get the dealer to discount the extras I wanted by a extra 20%. Just went to polaris site and picked what I wanted, printed out the order and then went to dealer and said this is what I want for a 20% discount or I will buy online. Best of luck!

Thanks a lot for the information. With my 5% sales tax sound like $7100 would be a really good deal. Sounds like you got your moneys worth on the invoice report. I always wondered if those were worth it.

If I pull the trigger this weekend, I'll let you know.

There migth be some difference in the height of the center, but you won't notice it much. What you will notice is the extreme difference in comfort between the plush passenger seat on the Touring and the hard brick of a seat on the Sportsman X2.

If you do much riding with a passenger, DO NOT make them endure the second seat provided on the Sportsman X2, get yourself a touring model.

We just got home from a day long trip and ride on Pa.'s "Bloody Skillet" Trail system near Lock Haven, Pa. We had 9 machines, 3 2-ups. Two were Can-Am Outlanders and the third was our Polaris 500 EFI Touring. The 2 Can-Am's were 800cc machines, but I still like the Polaris better. More comfortable - says my passenger, and I just like the feel and ergonmics better on the Polaris. I also like small details like the dual lights on the Polaris rear rather than the Can-Am single light.

Hope you enjoy your new machine.

Oh, by the way, 6" of snow on the trails yesterday!

I dont know how much you should pay but I got one and got to go on a 120mile run on groomed snow trails this weekend and both the wife and I loved it, real comfortable ride and great gas mileage on hard packed snow got over 25miles per gallon kept up with the bigger bikes no problem, so go for it and enjoy the ride.
