Default Fram Oil Filters

We saw a noticeable increase in oil pressure after switching from Fram to WIX/Napa filters on our drag car.

Default Fram Oil Filters

I use Fram on the Car and truck.....But not on the ATV.......I heard the Polaris and some others have the anti-drain back installed in them and we need this feature for our Quads.........I don't think the Fram has this ..at least I could not find that info, I did have one issue with a Fram Oil Filter for my daily driver.....................Got the Filter home ready to thread on...And guess what the internal Threads were started about one and 1/2 tapped..........Started to thread on ......stopped........luckly I didn't damage the threads!!!!.........Took it back to the Auto Parts store to swap for another(this time I looked at the inside threads on the filter).......And the next two I picked up were the same........1/2 tapped!!!!!

I told the counter staff.......And I did get good threads on the Third one!!!!
I do understand this was a Q/C issue and this did slip by the testing........It happens even at my Plant!!!..............Caper..........

Caper, I just want to point out that Fram I looked at said, "MADE IN CANADA" by Honeywell. :-) LOL

This is really interesting about the Fram Filters. I never knew (heard) much about them one way or another.

come on guys, how many engine failures can be blamed on the filter? not many, most engines failures are because of abuse or sinking it...I would rather change my oil every 500 miles with a fram filter then go 1000 miles on a more expensive filter.

WalMart SuperTech ST7317, about $2.00

I think I found my alternative to the Fram & dealer filter.

It sounds like a reliable filter at a price I'm looking for.
I do use either Polaris 0w40 or Mobil 1 0w40, so I'm not going cheap there.

been running fram on every single thing i own for years, the myth is blown on how bad they are, they would have been pulled from the market years ago if they were causing as massive engine failures as everyone says
