You have a short or a bad connection. The 02 400 has two auto reset circuit breakers, a 10 amp with two red/black wires and a 20 amp with three red/black wires. The breakers are under the hood in black pouches that are about three inches long. Remove the hood and run the bike until the electrical components turn off, then quickly feel the black pouches to see if one is fairly hot. If one is you have a short on that circuit.
Or, you could have a bad connection. Many people have had problems with the kill switch or the plug going into the kill switch on the left handle bar. Start the bike and wiggle the plug and the kill switch. If you do not find a problem at the kill switch, open the head light pod and wiggle the wire on the key switch.

so if its killing the bike and shutting down you know its got to be a main power source if there is a short grounding out the entire electrical system. imo.
