Will the recoil work if the starter solenoid is bad. I replaced the starter a last month rode it everything fine. Went out to start it yesterday and tought the battery was dead but it only makes a popping noise. It starts with the recoil. Just trying to rule things out. Thanks

 

it would start w/ the recoil. if the battery is charged up to full and its clicking, w/ the key turned on jump the 2 big wires on the solnoide and if it the starter turns over then the solnoide is bad.

 

I will give that a try. I hope it not the starter I just replayed it and that was not fun.
