Buying a 2nd Bike... Have a few questions

Howdy, thought I'd throw in my .02 worth. The X2 now comes in a 500 or 700 EFI. It is only $200 more to get the 700 twin. If I had that option back in 06 when I bought mine I would have spent the extra $200 if only for resale value. That being said, the 500 X2 EFI is a great quad. I've had my 350lbs. and my son's 200lbs. on it and it never has had a problem going up rock strewn hills or through water/mud holes. And the 500 gets about 20 mpg on the smooth and about 18 in the rough. Hope this helps you decide.

I am quite pleased with my 500 X2 and would buy one again. Last week, I swapped rides for awhile with an 800 Sportsman and I was glad to get back on mine. After riding mine, the other guy said he was going to look into trading for a 500 X2. He was complaining about his 8 mpg, asked me what I got, and I felt bad by telling him 23.

You mean fast a road not a trail I hope. Never seen a trail you can go 55mph down and not many logging roads also.</end quote></div>
Get real! you know an 800 will outrun a 500! Heck you couldn't keep up with my 500 Scrambler. You come out of a tight turn nail the throttle and easily pull a few lengths over a smaller quad. Do that for 40-50 miles and you will be very far ahead. You guys will argue about anything!

If you can do 20 mph on "any" ATV known to man kind I would be amazed.
a "trail" that you can do 55mph down is called a "road" and if I wanted to go fast down one of those I would bring my car or truck, they have a stereo and air while I go 100 mph down it.
I ride with a Scambler (see Pics) and pulled it out of suck situations more times than I count.

<lol> all great valid points everyone I thank you very much for the suggestions and options to consider...
I'm thinking for $1200.00 difference I'll go with the 800 X2 knowing that I could easily have gotten away with a X2 500 also.
If I get there and something strikes me differnet i'll grab the 500 instead but I want it to last for quite awhile and not have to trade off and upgrade etc also.
Thanks again! I appreciate the help.
