Ok - Heres the deal,
I've been riding for years... medium - on the agressive scale. I'm about to hit the big 40, and am ready to give up the Yamaha-ha Banshee scene(it's for the youger guy's - Yep! I admit it, and my wife would say 'Finally"!)
Any how, we're now looking at the Polaris touring's; my In-Laws are buying the "Touring 500" and would prefer I followed suit (for their non-agressive style of riding). But I'm paying the mortgage if you know what I mean...
I've test rode both and prefer the power of the 800 (obviously) but I'm looking at both, as my wife (non-agressive rider will be riding this as well, as well as my passenger only 7 and 10 year old daughters.
Any advise to help me decide on which one to purchase, from people who have had either one or the other, or both? Any answers from people who could help compare these would be very appriciated. Pro's vs. Con's...

You pretty well have it covered.........As for the 7-10 year old ....My daughter drives my 450 Sp around the yard only!!....But she also has lots of seat time on her Powermax 150cc also........
As for your wife the power of the 800 is there ...but she will only need to use what her right thumb will allow!!!
Going from a "SHEE".........Over to the UTE!!!!.....Will not be easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!............Good luck!!!!...Caper.

Hey CraftyOne, I have a Polaris X2 500EFI. The Touring model 500EFI is the same except for the seat (more comfy on the Touring) and the dump box that the X2 has. I weigh in around 350 and have had passengers up to 200 lbs. on the back seat. I've gone up some seriously steep hills (down too), through headlight deep water/mudholes, out on frozen ponds and lakes, etc. I find that the 500EFI will do anything I ask it to. Is it super-zippy with 550 lbs. of people on it? No. Will it go anywhere you can with a regular quad? More places! With the longer wheelbase it's a whole lot more stable than a regular size quad. Less tippy going up and down hills. A little bit of clearance loss due to breakover angle. All in all a great quad. Hope this helps. If I had to do over right now Polaris has a 700EFI for only $200 more. I'd probably go that route. The nice thing about the 500 is it gets about 18 mpg in the rough stuff and at least 20 when cruising along at 30.
