My polaris has no power
Well I took the reed off and looked down into the engine the bottom of my piston has a bunch of little chunks broken off. I am sure this is what is causing my issue. How hard is it to replace the piston also so is it just running and loosing power where the small hole is?

if you have a broken piston skirt and pieces are down in the crank area, beware they dont do damage to the crank shaft bearings. if you need to replace the piston, then you will have to have cylinder work done as well by at least honing it if not boring. you need the specs. and need to take it to a machine shop to have it checked. imo.

I purchased a 96 Xplorer 2 cycle. Didn't have much power. Local dealer thought it might be the driven clutch. Removed clutch and gave it a shake. If it is worn you can hear the beads shake they need to be replaced. What is happening is it is going into high gear too soon. 39.00 later it runs like a champ. Might give it a try.
