As mentioned in provious posts. While idling or riding at a constant RPM speed, you can feel a miss in firing. IF you full throttle or goose it, it runs great. I have replaced spark plug and entire cable. Rebuilt carb, checked timing...
any ideas?

is the etc on the throttle cable adjusted correctly, there should be just 1/8 inch of slack in the cable at the thumb throttle lever.

I'm taking it that you don't know??!! Have you checked the valve clearance? That is the distance between the rocker arm and the valve stem.

Thnks and I do appreciate you for responding very much. Its guys like you that make these forums work.
i do not know that language...just basic mechanical stuff....I will have someone that can do that for me. It seemed to start this after I dumped it under water.. I immediately killed power, turned it on it its rear bumper, dumped air box of water. Flushed and cleansed engine with standard techniques. checked for water in oil after 3 cleansings. All clear! cleaned carb...had another guy take carb totally apart and clean. Same problem...Seems just to be a small miss but runs great when full throttling it... Someone told me running like this is bad on the engine....
your thoughts????

If you've cleaned out the engine and changed all the oils and fluids that is a good start. You haven't mentioned the gas tank. Sure sounds more like a fuel/carb issue to me. Doc

udaman.....I am thinking still that there is a (air-gas) mixture issue...Like not enough and gasping....When we rebuilt the carb ... there was black residue in the diaphram areas uptop. there is only 2 adjustsments on the carb. One....polaris shaved screw heads...but I modified and got them out and cleaned. I screewed in and backed out about 1.5 turns. then set throttle adjust at around 1100 rpm's. It jumos from about 1050 rom and then goes to 1250 w/o touching anything.

Thanks for your help again and looking to find resolution...
